parking signs
The signs below are common throughout downtown, though you may encounter others not on this list. In some cases, marks on the curb or street may accompany the signs, but are not required. Obey all posted signage.
Commercial Loading Zone- Commercial Loading Zone signs might be accompanied by stripes or hashes on the street indicating the boundaries of the zone. You must have a commercial permit in order to park in this zone.
General Loading Zone- General Loading Zone signs might be accompanied by stripes or hashes on the street indicating the boundaries of the zone. You may park in a General Loading Zone for the amount of time indicated.
Shared Loading Zone- Shared Loading Zones are Commercial Loading Zones during the time indicated, time-restricted free parking during the time indicated, and then free parking the rest of the time.
Fire Lane- In addition to the posted sign, fire lanes might also be indicated by a red curb and/or red stripes. Do not park in fire lanes.
No Parking- No Parking signs might be accompanied by a yellow curb indicating the area that is off-limits.
No Parking Here To Corner
No Parking This Side of Street- This sign applies to one full block.
2 Hour Parking- This sign applies to just one side of the street. The other side is separate. If the time is before or after the restricted time frame, you may park for longer than 2 hours.
2 Hour Parking All Days & All Times- This sign applies to all the parking spaces in the lot.
Handicapped Parking- Handicapped Parking signs may be accompanied by a painted logo on the pavement, but it is not required. Obey all posted signage.
Towing Signs- If your car is towed from a Tow Away Zone, you must call the number posted on the sign to retrieve it.
